Constraints on Supersymmetry using 5/fb LHC data

چکیده

The ATLAS and CMS experiments did not find evidence for Supersymmetry using close to 5/fb of published LHC data at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. We combine these LHC data with data on Bs → μ+μ− (LHCb experiment), the relic density (WMAP and other cosmological data) and upper limits on the dark matter scattering cross sections on nuclei (XENON100 data). The excluded regions in the constrained Minimal Supersymmetric SM (CMSSM) lead to gluinos excluded below 1370 GeV and dark matter candidates below 230 GeV. If a Higgs mass of 125 GeV is imposed in the fit, the preferred SUSY region is above this excluded region, but the size of the preferred region is strongly dependent on the assumed theoretical error.

Searches for supersymmetry at CMS

Among the most promising prospects for a theory of physics beyond the standard model is supersymmetry. In this talk, the latest results from the CMS experiment at the LHC on searches for supersymmetry produced through through strong production and electroweak production channels are presented using 20/fb of data from the 8 TeV LHC run, with particular focus on gluino and stop searches. Presente...

Discovering SUSY in the first LHC run

We analyze the potential of the first LHC physics run, assuming 1 fb−1 at √ s = 7 TeV, to discover Supersymmetry (SUSY). The results are based on SUSY parameter fits following a frequentist approach. They include the experimental constraints from electroweak precision data, (g − 2)μ, B physics and cosmological data. The two SUSY models under consideration are the constrained MSSM (CMSSM) with u...

Predicting Supersymmetry

We review the result of SUSY parameter fits based on frequentist analyses of experimental constraints from electroweak precision data, (g−2)μ, B physics and cosmological data. We investigate the parameters of the constrained MSSM (CMSSM) with universal soft supersymmetry-breaking mass parameters, and a model with common non-universal Higgs mass parameters in the superpotential (NUHM1). Shown ar...

Search for Supersymmetry at CMS in all-hadronic final states

Searches for Supersymmetry in final states with jets and missing transverse energy are presented. They were performed with data samples corresponding to up to 1.1 fb−1 of integrated luminosity collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC in pp-collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. No excess of events was observed above the expected Standard Model background, which has been measured usin...

Prospects for Discovering Supersymmetry at the LHC

Supersymmetry is one of the best-motivated candidates for physics beyond the Standard Model that might be discovered at the LHC. There are many reasons to expect that it may appear at the TeV scale, in particular because it provides a natural cold dark matter candidate. The apparent discrepancy between the experimental measurement of gμ−2 and the Standard model value calculated using low-energy...
